Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies' Puncaki Box Office di Minggu Pertama

Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies mengalahkan Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb dan Annie di minggu pertama di box office.

"The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" memenangkan persaingan untuk menjadi penguasa puncak boc office akhir minggu kemarin. Seperti dilansir dari Box Office Mojo, "Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" memuncaki box office dengan USD 56,2 juta (Rp 697 miliar).

"Akhir pekan ini menandai awal kemenangan dari akhir franchise, yang sudah sangat konsisten selama lebih dari 10 tahun sejak 'The Lord of the Rings'," tutur Paul Dergarabedian, seorang analis box office. "Sangat jarang bisa melihat antusiasme penonton yang seprti ini, yang tak berkurang sedikit pun."

Meski demikian, film yang dibintangi oleh Martin Freeman ini masih belum bisa mengalahkan kesuksesan sekuel sebelumnya. Dalam 3 hari pertama pemutarannya, "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" berhasil memperoleh USD 73,6 juta (Rp 913 miliar), sementara "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" dengan USD 84,6 juta (Rp 1,04 triliun).

Sementara itu, "Battle of the Five Armies" berhasil mengalahkan "Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb" dan "Annie" yang juga memasuki minggu pertama di box office. "Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb" memulai minggu pertamanya di posisi ke-2 box office dengan USD 17,3 juta (Rp 214 miliar). Sedangkan "Annie" berada di peringkat 3 dengan perolehan USD 16,3 juta (Rp 202 miliar).
